Future Urban Security
Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft
Future Urban Security, Freiburg
In the Future Security innovation cluster, six Fraunhofer Institutes, research partners, Universities, numerous companies specializing in different areas have pooled their skills in the interdisciplinary field of security research.
Thematic areas
- Technologies for the protection and enhancement of the resilience of urban infrastructures
- Technologies for action force and disaster relief workers
- Technologies for the detection and neutralization of hazardous substances
The project is being coordinated by the Fraunhofer Institute for High-Speed Dynamics, Ernst-Mach-Institut, EMI. The Fraunhofer Institutes involved in the cluster have set out to develop a number of innovative security technologies in collaboration with their industrial partners.
The possibility of "intelligently" integrating and merging information from heterogeneous sources holds tremendous market potential in security technology. The members of the cluster pool their expertise in the areas of sensors, electronics, microsystems engineering, life sciences and civil engineering.
