The Fraunhofer Institute for Experimental Software Engineering IESE has established the Fraunhofer Project Center on Transport and Logistics at NICTA at the National ICT Australia Ltd. (NICTA) in Sydney with the research on information and communication technologies (ICT) for logistics and intelligent transport management.

In the foreground is the investigation of key scenarios that allow users to make experiences with new technologies and products. These include improving the efficiency of supply chains through transportation management, infrastructure and intelligent network of sensors, and logistics management systems according to the principles of the Internet of »Things and Services«. Initial projects have been running since early 2010 in various application domains. In the area of ​​networked sensors for intelligent traffic management eg jointly developed a tool chain and runtime environment for the analysis of video data on multi-core architectures.
