  • Fraunhofer Traffic and Transportation Alliance

    The Fraunhofer Traffic and Transportation Alliance develops technical and conceptual solutions for public-sector and industrial customers and translates them into practical applications. It does this by identifying future developments and guiding the focus of sponsored research programs.

  • Fraunhofer Lightweight Construction Alliance

    The Institutes that make up the Fraunhofer Lightweight Construction Alliance bring together expertise in a number of fields: materials and material composites, joining techniques and manufacturing processes for lightweight construction, numerical and experimental simulation, and evaluation of components and systems.

  • Fraunhofer Food Chain Management Alliance

    Food Chain Management (FCM) focuses on the chain of food manufacturing as an integral process-extending from the primary production via processing and trade until it reaches the consumers. The aim is to analyze and optimize these processes in order to finally supply consumers with qualitatively spotless food as efficiently and reliably as possible.

  • Fraunhofer Adaptronics Alliance

    The adaptive structure technology, in short Adaptronics, integrates actuator and sensor functions into structures and links these functions through (often adaptive) control ‘intelligence’. This allows structures to recognize their own condition and actively react to it, leading to the realization of adaptive structure systems. With this background, light and compact as well as vibration-free and dimensionally stable modern structures can be designed that optimally adapt to their changing operating environment.
