Communication and Knowledge – Cloud Computing

Cloud computing is the name given to an IT concept that goes far beyond the usage of computing power per se. Essentially it's about outsourcing IT services to external service providers. This may include computing power and storage capacity (Infrastructure-as-a-Service, IaaS) as well as the provision of platforms with value-added services such as security solutions and billing services or the use of Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) in its many varied forms.

CloudCycle Cloud-Services with guaranteed Security – Throughout their Complete Life Cycle

The cloud technology offers economic scalability, flexibility, and cost savings for both the customers and the providers of IT services. Despite these considerable advantages, small and medium sized enterprises (SME) and the public sector still make only limited use of clouds and cloud-based services. Reasons are lack of guaranteed security and compliance, on the one hand, and inexistent interoperability between different cloud providers on the other hand.
