Zukunftspreis 2010

Inspired by the elephant’s trunk, researchers have developed an entirely new robot arm. Precision-tuned and flexible, this novel high-tech helper can work in industry and in the home. For this development, on December 1, Dr.-Ing. Peter Post and Dipl.-Ing. Markus Fischer of Festo, joined by Dipl.-Ing. Andrzej Grzesiak of the Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation IPA were awarded with the Deutscher Zukunftspreis 2010. Yesterday, the German Federal President Christian Wulff presented the award, which carries a purse of EUR 250,000.
