Berlin

The Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft is in close exchange with parliament, political parties and the federal government as well as scientific organizations, associations and companies in order to contribute our research to the benefit of society.

As an overarching unit within Fraunhofer's Presidential Division, we convey the interests and positions of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft at our two locations in Munich and Berlin.

The Capital Office represents Fraunhofer's interests on-site and maintains relationships with decision-makers from politics, science, business and society. All political formats of the Science Policy Department take place in Berlin. Contacts with ministries, parties and associations as well as other scientific organizations are maintained from here.

The Capital Office in Berlin is located at the Fraunhofer-Forum in the heart of Germany's capital. It is close to Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt, situated directly by the Spree river on the opposite bank of the Berlin Cathedral. The office of the Hightech-Forum, which the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft currently operates on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), is also located there.

The Hightech-Forum is the federal government's central advisory board for the implementation of the Hightech-Strategy 2025. The committee consists of 21 experts from science, business and society. Fraunhofer's President Prof. Dr. Reimund Neugebauer serves as co-chair, together with State Secretary Christian Luft.

The Hightech-Forum office is part of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft and supports - on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research - the board's work regarding content and organisation. In addition, it is commissioned to support the federal departments in the implementation of the 12 missions of the Hightech Strategy 2025.
