The Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft is in close exchange with parliament, political parties and the federal government as well as scientific organizations, associations and companies in order to contribute our research to the benefit of society.

As an overarching unit within Fraunhofer's Presidential Division, we convey the interests and positions of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft at our two locations in Munich and Berlin.

The Science Policy department is the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft’s central point of contact for political matters. We bridge the gap between research and politics, provide science-based recommendations to support policy decision-making processes and represent Fraunhofer's interests to parliament, ministries and political parties. We also monitor political developments, translate them into research strategies, and advise our Fraunhofer institutes on science policy issues. Our office is located in the heart of Berlin, near Hackescher Markt. We regularly host public events on political topics and look forward to seeing you — come and talk to us!
