The German Act on Corporate Due Diligence Obligations in Supply Chains

The German Act on Corporate Due Diligence Obligations in Supply Chains (Lieferkettensorgfaltspflichtengesetz, LkSG) entered into force on January 1, 2023. This German federal law governs the economic activities of companies based in Germany with 3,000 or more employees working there by imposing due diligence obligations intended to minimize human rights and environmental risks in the supply chains of these enterprises.

The Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft welcomes efforts to safeguard human rights along global supply chains and has taken action in relation to all nine due diligence obligations outlined in the LkSG.
