Change also means taking on responsibility. At Fraunhofer, our responsibility for our employees goes beyond the workplace itself. For this reason, we offer flexible working models such as flextime or part-time work as well as organizational simplification measures — for example, in the form of remote working.

Fraunhofer has established an excellent position in terms of work-life balance. Not only has this been shown through employee surveys, but we have also received top ratings in external polls. As a well-functioning work-life balance is also becoming ever more important for employees and job applicants, this also greatly increases our attractiveness as an employer.

In order to make our success measurable and visible and implement a Fraunhofer-wide standard, the executive board decided to launch a pilot initiative to award a seal of approval — the Fraunhofer Family Logo — to Fraunhofer institutes that provide exceptional conditions for achieving a good work-life balance.
