#WeKnowHow

At its annual conference on October 9, 2020 in the Fraunhofer Forum Berlin, the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft honored outstanding projects of its researchers.

After careful consideration, we decided against holding the award ceremony for the research prize as an in-person event to help prevent the further spread of SARS-CoV-2 and to protect all parties involved – including our guests. Instead, the award ceremony took place as a digital event format.

On this occasion, we presented the Joseph von Fraunhofer Prizes for excellent scientific achievements in the solution of application-oriented problems and the science prize from the Stifterverband für die Deutsche Wissenschaft.

The world is changing, now more than ever. We can wait and see what comes – or we take the future into our own hands. Against the backdrop of the current pandemic, it is important to act decisively to emerge from the crisis with renewed strength. We are meeting this challenge by developing innovations that will make life easier tomorrow. With our commitment, we promote the preservation of know-how and contribute to securing technological leadership and sovereignty, competitiveness and prosperity. #WeKnowHow. This was the motto of this year’s Fraunhofer annual meeting.
