(Re)constructing a Resilient Built Environment: Digital, Circular & Affordable

On May 27, 2025, over 50 experts gathered in Brussels for the workshop “(Re)constructing a Resilient Built Environment: Digital, Circular & Affordable” – an initiative co-organized by Fraunhofer, SINTEF, TNO, and VTT.

The event brought together leading European research organizations, industry representatives, and EU policymakers to explore how Europe can drive a systemic transformation of the built environment.

Against the backdrop of key EU policy initiatives, such as the European Green Deal, the Renovation Wave, the Competitiveness Compass, and the EU Housing Taskforce, the workshop addressed pressing challenges: rising housing costs, low productivity, and the sector’s significant environmental impact.
